Enrichment
The Tuesday Afternoon Program
We meet Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings. On Tuesday afternoons, we
meet at the studio of April Atlas in South Miami for a hands-on exploration
of The Middle Ages through the prism of water-colors, drawing, clay-handbuilding,
fiber arts and architecture. Each week the children will create works of art
that will supplement their studies of The Middle Ages.
The Friday Morning Program
We use primarily an online university model with monthly meetings on each
subject. On the first Friday of each month we meet for a docent-led tour of
the Lowe Art Museum at the University of Miami. On the second Friday of each
month, we meet at the Deering Estate for a hands-on science lab. On the third
Friday of each month, we meet at Matheson Hammock for History. On the Fourth
Friday of the month, we meet again at the Deering Estate for Music and Art
Appreciation. On months with a fifth Friday, we will have a field trip or catch-up
day.
